Dr Angela Wright, Senior Lecturer in Human Resources Management, was quoted in several HR-related online publications for her prediction on the impacts of the new National Living Wage.

Her analysis follows the government’s recent announcement to increase the National Living Wage. According to her, the sectors most affected by the new regulations will be retailing, hospitality, catering and caring – all of which have a large workforce and operations vital to the British economy.

She also concludes that even the new, increased National Living Wage is not a wage that someone can live on, and is still considerably below the living wage paid voluntarily by several hundred employers.
