Former Music Week Deputy Editor and Westminster student Murray Stassen was appointed as the Editor of Audio Media International, succeeding Adam Savage.

Before joining Audio Media International Murray Stassen was working as a freelance music business journalist. Prior to that he held the position of Deputy Editor at sister publication AMI and respected weekly music industry journal Music Week before stepping down in September 2016 to go freelance. Stassen also has experience working as a staff writer for Pro Sounds News Europe.

He is currently undertaking a Music Business Management MA at the University of Westminster, after graduating from the University’s Journalism BA Honours course in 2012.

Speaking about his University of Westminster experience, Murray said: "The First Class Honours degree I was awarded at the end of my Journalism course at the University of Westminster has definitely helped me to progress in my career. I now make magazines and write for a living, which would have been a lot harder to achieve without the mentoring and practical journalism training I received while I was an undergraduate student. Now, as a part-time Master’s degree student at the University, I continue to learn from the best alongside my professional work."

About his new position, he said: “I'm really looking forward to working with Colby, James and the team at NewBay Media and continuing the stellar work that Adam has done at Audio Media International over the years.”
