If you are a Home or an EU student applying for a taught postgraduate degree course which is at an equivalent or lower level than a qualification you already possess, you would ordinarily pay a higher tuition fee for your degree course. This is because the University does not receive funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) for students who are aiming for a qualification that is equivalent or lower (ELQ) than they already possess.

However the School of Electronics and Computer Science has agreed a fee discount for students enrolling in September 2011 whereby students who already possess a Masters level (or above) qualification will only pay the standard UK/EU fee of £5,445 rather than the ELQ fee of £10,875, halving the cost of the course.

We believe this will be of benefit to Computing and Electronics professionals looking to further their career skills sets who may have already gained a Masters qualification in a different field or who have been out of education for some time and want to study current industry practice and challenges.
