The latest Theory Meets Practice event took place this month when Dave Griffiths gave his illustrated talk C U in Court: the true story of King Cnut’s battle with French connection on 6 March. This was a reprisal of his sold out Edinburgh show from 2013 and extremely well received.
Steve Greenfield and Guy Osborn delivered a paper entitled ‘To play or not to play? Law’s impact on the perceived value and values of youth sport in UK’ at the Seventh Summit on Communication and Sport at the Cornell Club, NYC on 15th March. This is part of their ongoing research into youth sport.
Guy Osborn, along with Professor Mark James from Northumbria Law School was invited to give a paper at the Sporting Justice conference at the Centre for Conflict, Rights and Justice at Nottingham Law School on 28 March. The paper was entitled ‘Re-imagining the IOC: Host City Contracts and Sporting Justice’ , a further development of their recent work on Olympic law.
