If you are a final year student or recent graduate interested in a unique opportunity to undertake 19 months of language study, work placement and homestay in Japan, Daiwa scholarships can offer you a chance to acquire Japanese language skills, expertise and knowledge relevant to your career aspirations.

Successful applicants will be based in Tokyo from September 2013 until the end of March 2015. Your time in Tokyo will include intensive language training (designed to help you reach an upper-intermediate level of ability), work placements and networking opportunities.

Previous successful applicants have come from a wide variety of academic disciplines and subject areas, so don’t be put off by thinking your degree won’t be relevant.

No previous experience of Japan or Japanese is necessary.

Daiwa scholarships are awarded by The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, the UK’s leading charity supporting links between Britain and Japan.

Further details and online application forms can be found on the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation website.

The deadline for applications is 6 December 2012.
