On Monday 26 October we will be launching the Library Survey 2015. It only takes a few minutes to complete and it’s important because it has a lasting impact on the way we deliver services to you. Comments from previous surveys have really made a difference. The survey will be open for three weeks.

You may remember completing the last Library Survey in 2014. We listened to your feedback and made changes to Library Services to improve your experience. For example, you gave us feedback on aspects of the library study space and that has helped to shape refurbishments at the Harrow and Regent Libraries. At Harrow, the second floor has been refurbished to the same standard as the ground and first floors, with more varied study spaces such as group study rooms plus new furniture. At Regent Library, level B2 has new flooring and improved air ventilation. You told us that the noise levels are sometimes unacceptable so we have improved signage to make it easier for you to choose the area that matches your needs.

Library desk-tops PCs have been replaced according to a rolling replacement programme and new printers/scanners have been installed which are more robust and reliable.

This year we have started a project to convert reading lists into online documents that link directly to Library Search to make it easier for you to find what you need for your course. At this early stage not all courses have an online list but if yours does, you will find it via Blackboard or you can look at other lists on our reading lists site.

Based on your feedback in a separate survey on library opening hours, we have extended the opening time to 11.30pm in the first few weeks of Semester One before 24/7 opening hours begin on 30 November.

There will be a prize draw after the survey closes. The prizes are one MacBook Air and ten £50 Asos vouchers. If you wish to be one of the prize draw winners, enter your email address in the final box at the end of the survey. It will be kept confidential and will not be linked to your survey responses.
