July news from the Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture

Robert Allan accepted our invitation to become an Associate Fellow of the Centre. We are delighted he has agreed to formalise his relationship with us as he has been involved with the work of the Centre for a number of years, and we look forward to developing future collaborations with him. A full list of current Associate Fellows is available here.

Building upon the work he has conducted previously on film censorship, and his work on the University Cinema Project, Guy Osborn was asked to write an entry on Film Classification for the legal encyclopaedia Westlaw UK Insight, the article is available to download in PDF format.

Westminster Law School was mentioned in the Evening Standard on 4 July, more about the story on the blog of Comedian Dave Griffiths.

Dave was inspired to take his story to Edinburgh after delivering a talk as part of our Theory Meets Practice series in 2013 and returned triumphantly earlier in the year.
