Guy Osborn and Andrew Smith presented a paper entitled ‘The Olympic Games and the Juridification of Public Space’ at the Political Studies Association Sport and Politics conference held at the University of Durham on 8th January 2015.
Guy Osborn continued to blog on World War 1, both on its relation to law and popular culture generally, and the work of the Polytechnic, and on the specific issue of alcohol and the Great War. We hope to develop this idea further, and would be interested in hearing ideas or expressions of interest from anyone who is interested in contributing to this project - see the blogs for more background information.
Most importantly this month, we are delighted to announce that Danilo Mandic was awarded his PhD. This is great news and testament to all the hard work Danilo has put in over the past few years. We will be welcoming Danilo to the Centre in a more formal capacity in the next month or so as a Post-doctoral Fellow, so more to follow on this in due course. Danilo is the third Doctor to emerge from the Centre following Andrea Pavoni and Oxana Chiscenco.
