On Friday 17 October, the University of Westminster hosted the launch of the French History Network in Fyvie Hall.

The network, aimed at promoting transnational collaborative projects among young scholars, recently opened an online blog in collaboration with the Society for the Study of French History: http://frenchhistorysociety.co.uk/blog.

One of the first projects of this network was an edited volume on France in an era of Global War, 1914-1945: Occupation, Politics, Empire and Entanglements (Palgrave, 2014). The book was sold at the launch and guest speakers from the UK and France gave papers on new research on the historical period 1914-1945. The event was organised by Dr Ludivine Broch (University of Westminster) and Dr Alison Carrol (University of Brunel) with the support of the French Institute in London, the Society for the Study of French History, the University of Westminster and Brunel University.
