Katie Ann McGuigan, winner of the Fashion Merit Award, will show as part of Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week.

She graduated in 2016 and was awarded the Fashion Scout Merit Award. Now she will show her debut runway collection at London Fashion Week (LFW) on Saturday 18 February. Chosen from hundreds of entrants, her debut runway collection will feature her signature large-scale geometric prints shown on modern graphic silhouettes.

Katie is the latest in a long line of graduates from the Fashion Design BA Honours course at the University of Westminster who now show at London Fashion Week.

Roberta Einer, who graduated in 2015, will also be showing her new collection. She was named as The One-to-watch in 2015 by the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN, and her work has been featured in publications including American Vogue, Teen Vogue, Dazed & Confused and i-D Magazine. Last year she was also the recipient of the Saks Fifth Avenue Emerging Designer Showcase and is now stocked in their store in New York. Her luxury womenswear has quickly gained a reputation for its innovative application of couture techniques, with an emphasis on embellishment and hand-embroidery.

Also showing at LFW is David Ferreira who graduated in 2015 and was a previous recipient of the Merit Award from Fashion Scout. His label’s vision stands as the perfect symbiosis between traditional and modernity, blending the lines between fashion and art.

Claire Barrow, renowned for her luxury hand-painted leather and uniquely illustrated aesthetics, will be debuting her new multi-sensory art installation Dancing with Dreams at Galeria Melissa in Covent Garden. Dancing with Dreams is an immersive art piece integrating sculpture, performance, technology, fashion, film and music from the multi-disciplinary visual artist. Claire has created five sculptures which are joined by digital projections of the six people performing to the sculptures. Both the sculptures and performers are wearing costumes designed by Barrow.

Also showing at LFW are Ashley Williams who graduated in 2012 and whose label now sells at Selfridges in London, Colette in Paris and Joyce in Hong Kong; and Markus Lupfer who graduated in 1997. Besides, Christopher Bailey who will be presenting Burberry’s latest ‘see now, buy now’ collection on Monday 20 February which is sure to be the highlight of the week, with its mixture of high fashion, the hottest runway models and a star studded front row.
