July news from the Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture.

Guy Osborn had a chapter entitled ‘Signposting Risk. Parkour parks and the materialities of regulation’ published in Lifestyle Sports and Public Policy (Routledge, 2017). This is part of his ongoing collaboration with Dr Paul Gilchrist of the University of Brighton.

Danny Nicol’s blog on the new female Doctor Who was picked up by the Huddersfield Daily Examiner – great to see this acknowledgment of Danny’s work in advance of the publication of his book ‘Doctor Who – A British Alien?’ next year.

Andrew Smith spoke at The Future of Public Parks conference. His acclaimed book Events in the City was published in 2016 and will be released next month in paperback.
