We have scheduled the work to take place on weekends in June and July to minimise disruption.
On 29-30 June and again on 13-14 July, the following IT services will be unavailable:
- Home and shared areas will be unavailable for students located at Cavendish and Regent.
- Local access to SITS will be unavailable.
- Network access at the halls of residence receptions and Chiswick Sports Ground will be subject to a brief ten-minute outage.
The project, which is improving the University’s data centres - a key part of the IT infrastructure, won the Best Energy Saving Idea 2013/14 at the recent Green Impact awards. It will deliver improved efficiencies in power usage, cooling, network uptime and availability, and will ultimately offer the University some significant annual savings.
