Five alumni discussed with current undergraduates their personal experiences in the world of work, and all emphasised how the skills they had acquired at Westminster had stood them in good stead in pursuing their careers.
The speakers were James Nelson (Modern History, 2011), trainee solicitor, Blaser Mills LLP, Gazza Narong Yooyai (History, 2013), who has just accepted a position with the Home Office, Amani Tabasam (English Literature and Modern History, 2015), Marketing Coordinator, King’s College London, Tuesday Hart (History, 2013), Project Manager, Ipsos MORI and Peter Haggett (History, 2013), Web Services Manager, Public Health England.
The event was co-hosted by Head of Department, Dr Martin Doherty, and Lorna Pontefract, Alumni Relations Officer for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Dr Doherty said: ‘the variety of careers our five alumni have followed is a testament not only to their own abilities, but to the vast array of opportunities which are open to History graduates. We were very pleased to see them all again and are very proud of them’.
