Are you a budding artist looking for opportunities to strengthen your portfolio?

We're sorry, this competition is now closed.

This year, we’ve teamed up with the National Portrait Gallery to give you a chance to design the University Christmas card.

Pim Baxter, a leading arts figure and Deputy Director of the National Portrait Gallery will judge the winning entry. Your name will be printed on the card and it's an excellent opportunity to express your creativity and get your work noticed.

The winning entry will also win £50 in vouchers to spend on artist’s materials at Paperchase.

How to enter

  • The competition is open to all students enrolled at the University of Westminster.
  • You should produce a photograph or illustration that you think would work well on the front cover of our card. You can also produce an artwork that is scanned as an image at high resolution (300dpi).
  • Please include a few sentences to explain the rationale behind your image, explaining how you came to the composition you chose.
  • The deadline for entries is 9am Monday 3 November 2014.

Card format

  • The card will be A5 size (148mm x 210mm) and can be portrait or landscape.
  • Your image will be placed on the front of the card.
  • We may add the words ‘Season’s greetings’ in the top left-hand corner, so you might like to create space for this.
  • We will accept most popular file formats but they must be at 300dpi and usable at A5 dimensions (148mm x 210mm).
  • The competition will be judged by Pim Baxter, Director of the National Portrait Gallery.
