A new Sky Arts series that engages some of the most creative spirits of the decade in intimate conversation was filmed almost entirely at the University’s Harrow campus.

The home of the School of Media, Arts and Design (MAD) provided the perfect location for …In Confidence – described as “a probing set of high definition interviews set to expose what’s behind the façade of some of Britain’s most culturally expressive characters”.

Those interviewed at the campus were Tom Baker, Richard Dawkins, Damien Hirst, Kathy Burke, Jonathan Miller, Martin Rawson, Will Self, David Starkey and Ann Widdecombe.

They found themselves subject to the unwavering scrutiny of Professor Laurie Taylor, who interrogated them about the moments of joy and tragedy; the mistakes and the successes, the flaws and strengths that have defined their lives.

School dean Sally Feldman said she was delighted Sky had chosen Harrow campus for the filming. “We were so pleased to be able to help make this series happen. These really are some of our national treasures and the result makes for compulsive viewing.”

Laurie Taylor said:  “… In Confidence isn’t about the product, or the plug. It’s probing, exploratory, confrontational - and sometimes uncomfortable. This is television for people who don’t like their meat cut up for them.”

… In Confidence is now being shown on Sky Arts 1 HD and Sky Arts 1, Tuesdays at 10pm until 8 June. Tonight’s show sees David Starkey interviewed.
