Jane Moore (The Sun), Peter Oborne (The Mail) and Andrew Penman (The Mirror) join Matthew Engel (FT) to discuss how new talent can emerge in the changing media landscape.

The panel session is a part of the conference which will hear academic papers on the current funding of journalism around the world with a keynote speech from Prof. Robert Picard of “The Media Business”.

Another industry panel including Claire Enders (Enders Analysis) and Richard Hooper (former deputy chair of OFCOM) will review the current state of regional and local media.

The conference is also host to the Charles Wheeler Award for Broadcast Journalism given by the British Journalism Review. The prize giving is followed by the Memorial Lecture, which this year will be a keynote address by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London

The conference is organised by the Department of Journalism at the University of Westminster and is being held 8 and 9 June in central London.
