Four Fashion Design BA Honours graduates have been selected by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as the next generation of fashion designers globally.

After identifying a need to connect global graduating talent to their membership, in 2013 the CFDA created a curated platform, called CFDA+, providing visibility to creative capital from around the world.

Since its creation, the CFDA+ has reviewed more than 1000 portfolios, interviewed more than 600 recent graduates from 43 leading schools from 32 countries, and has spotlighted 245 graduates to a community of industry in education.

Together with its highly-renowned collaboration with Floriane de Saint Pierre’s Paris based ‘Eyes on Talents’, the CFDA provides the selected design graduates a unique global exposure.

This year, the selected CFDA+ 2017 design graduates received a one-year profile-based showcase on the CFDA’s official website enabling their profiles to be visible to the CFDA Membership community of 500+ leading American designers.

Among the 41 CFDA+ talents selected from 24 schools, four Westminster Fashion Design graduates, Jasper McGilvray, Ian Richardson, Chloe Scott and Nicholas Yip had their talents recognised.

Sara Kozlowski, CFDA’s Director of Education + Professional Development, said: “The CFDA and Eyes on Talents believe in pure talent. CFDA+ 2017 previews tomorrow's industry today, from the design specialists of the Academy of Art University to the systems thinkers at Parsons, the avant luxury makers at Polimoda, the menswear of the University of Westminster and the masters of vision at the Royal College of Art.”
