In an effort to promote academic development through international experiences, Westminster is offering students international travel scholarships with a maximum award of £1,000.

Westminster provides a number of scholarships for learning beyond the traditional undergraduate and postgraduate courses. One of these is the Distant Horizon Award, which we offer to our UK (home) undergraduate students who wish to take part in academic or career-related events or activities overseas but who may not have the financial capability to do so.

The deadline for applications is 17 April 2015, and the travel applied for must take place before 31 August 2016.

To be eligible, you must be:

  • a current University of Westminster student, studying on a full-time undergraduate course
  • classified as a home student from the UK
  • intending to take part in an academic or career-related event overseas

Please note that the Distant Horizons Award cannot be used for everyday travel (eg Oyster travel cards) or for travel that has already occurred.

ERASMUS students are eligible to apply. However, you must provide supporting documents showing that your ERASMUS grant does not cover the type of academic event referenced in this application.

You can see more information, including how to apply, on the Other scholarships page.
