The Department of History, Sociology and Criminology sponsored a guided visit to the University of Westminster by two groups of secondary school students from Italy.

Representatives of several schools from southern Italy, including both students and teachers, visited the University, specifically the Regent Campus, over two days: 28 September and 5 October. The students were shown significant landmarks of the University and the surrounding areas, including the historical Regent Street Cinema. Their guide was Peter Catterall, Reader in History and Faculty International Director.

Finally, they listened to a lecture by Giulia Pepe, research student at the Department of English, Linguistics and Cultural Studies, who explained various aspects of the academic world in the UK to them, including how to apply to university and what to expect.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we hope this is only the first of many other projects aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the University of Westminster and international institutions.

The project was realised thanks to the cooperation between the department, represented by Francesco Cacciatore, and Sagitter Training, a London-based company that specialises in international mobility projects for students and the management of work experiences in the UK.
