On 24 June, Panos Hahamis, Senior Lecturer in the School's Business Information Management and Operations Department, along with Giovanni Navarria, Research Associate at the Department of Politics and International Relations in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages, delivered a lecture on e-Government to a visiting Chinese Higher Education delegation.
The delegation was led by the Principal of Beijing's leading IT institute, the Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Institute. The Principal, President Professor Shen Yongshe, is also an adviser to the Communist Party's Central Committee on educational matters. The lecture, entitled An overview of e-Government in the UK, took place at the Main Boardroom in Regent Street immediately after introduction by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geoffrey Petts, and was very well received. The overall feedback was that time spent at the University of Westminster was the highlight of the delegation’s visit to the UK, enhancing further the prospect of the University’s future business and relationships with China.
