The award shortlist features titles that are challenging traditional management and leadership thinking.
Of more than 150 books entered into the competition, Cecilie Bingham’s book Employment Relations: Fairness and Trust in the Workplace was one of 25 books to be shortlisted for the award.
The book examines organisational justice and recommends how to build diverse and inclusive workplaces. Since the release earlier this year, the book has been heavily endorsed by fellow HR specialists, professionals and academics alike.
Upon receiving the news of the nomination, Cecilie said:
“I am delighted and pleased that the book, with its focus on trust and fairness, might now perhaps reach a wider audience. I know that those students and colleagues who have read the book think it interesting, clear and helpful – hopefully the judges will be of the same opinion."
The winners will be announced at an awards evening at the British Library on 6 February 2017 – with the winning author taking home a £5,000 prize.
Cecilie Bingham teaches modules in employee relations to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and is the course leader for Human Resource Management MA and International Human Resource Management MA at Westminster Business School.
