Dr Patricia Hogwood, Reader in European Politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations, has received two awards for her coverage of Brexit and European affairs with The Conversation UK.

At the University of Westminster Conversation Awards held on 22 November, Patricia received the overall ‘Editor’s Choice’ award and the ‘Busy Bee’ award for the most articles published in a two-month period.

The Conversation is a discussion site that aims to combine academic rigour with journalistic flair. Their dynamic editorial team works with academic experts to ensure a fast, well-informed response to current affairs, acting as a reliable source of public information and publicising new research developments. Patricia’s work on Brexit has spanned public information items such as Inside the EU: A beginner’s guide to Brussels and profiles of the men behind the EU’s Brexit plans as well as analysis of key developments, including The EU’s Ides of March? Article 50 timing could spell disaster for European unity.
