Westminster’s Achievement Award Presentation for the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment took place on Wednesday 5 February 2014.

Achievement awards are funded by the Scholarships Office and are the University’s way of rewarding and encouraging excellence and progression within the University.

The students nominated had achieved some of the highest overall average marks in their year of study. Each recipient was presented with a certificate and a cheque for £1,000 by Kate Heron, Head of Architecture, at the event organised by the Faculty.

The evening included a general knowledge quiz and drinks reception so the award winners could celebrate their success with their guests and tutors.

We also congratulated the winners of the JCDecaux prize for the best Planning Project on the Postgraduate Urban Design Course. This prize was awarded to Alan Bain, Jackie Longman, Lorika Hisari and Tom Buttrick by Kate Holden who is an alumna of ours and a company planner at JCDceaux, for their project entitled ‘The Westway Activity Tracks - A socially inclusive, free-to-access network of multi-level activity tracks and walkways that reconnect urban areas severed by the Westway’.
