About Green Impact

Green Impact is an environmental accreditation programme with an awards element, designed to encourage, support and celebrate departments in making environmental improvements. Interested staff and students volunteer to participate in the programme and receive a workbook outlining achievable environmental changes. All the criteria relate to practical actions, such as only using recycled copier paper, or putting awareness stickers next to light switches.

Depending on the number of environmental actions carried out, departments can achieve either a bronze, silver or gold accreditation. All departments participating in Green Impact will need an audit to verify their level of achievement and this is where you come in!

We are looking for volunteer auditors to visit departments and conduct audits. Each volunteer auditor will be fully trained on the criteria and what they need to audit through a half-day of training. In pairs auditors will then complete one or more audit. An audit should take between one and two hours to complete depending on the size of the department.

The training and audits are taking place on Tuesday 31 March at the University of Westminster and Wednesday 1 April at the Natural History Museum. You only need to be available on one of those days.

The audit training takes place in the morning followed by one or more audits in the afternoon.

We will need you to attend the full day of training/audits from 9.30am–5.00pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Please indicate which day you are free using this online form.

What skills do I need?

No technical knowledge is needed. Full training will be provided, all you need is an interest in environmental issues.

Please get in touch if you’re eager to get involved with Green Impact in an auditing capacity, or if you have any further questions.

How can I apply?

Please apply by Sunday 22 March, using the online form.
