Representatives from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) will be visiting Westminster with the FCO Roadshow.

What is it like to work at the cutting edge of policy making? What is it like to live overseas and promote British interests in challenging environments? What is it like to brief ministers on the latest issues? And what can I expect from the application process?

If you’ve ever asked yourselves these questions then come to this event. The roadshow is part of a campaign to attract talented students from a range of diverse backgrounds to apply to the Civil Service Fast Stream, helping the Civil Service to become more representative of modern Britain.

By coming to the event you will gain;

  • An insight into the Fast Stream application process
  • The opportunity to hear from a panel consisting of a senior diplomat, senior home civil servant and other members of staff from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Home Civil Service
  • The chance to network with our panel and ask them questions.

To gain an insight into the sort of things you can expect to hear, read Nikesh's account of working on foreign policy and security at the British High Commission in Malaysia.

Date: Thursday 23 October 2014
