Last year, you told us that you wanted more flexible and reliable access to the University’s VLE.
We took your feedback on board and are introducing some of the latest technology available over the 2012-13 academic year.
Let us know if you like what you see by clicking on the Facebook and Twitter links at the bottom of this page.
For the start of the year, we’ve upgraded Blackboard to offer a very different and more user-friendly look and feel.
Navigation across sites for staff and students has been much improved - find out more in our introduction to Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 8.
To ensure that the system is reliable, it's hosted by a supplier who can guarantee a 99.9% up-time.
Mobile learning and Campus Pack
Over the coming months, you’ll also find:
- Mobile learning: With the new Blackboard Mobile Learn App, you’ll be able to learn on the go. You can also set up automatic notifications for course announcements and sign up to the University's text messaging service, allowing us to alert you to important news and events. Read more about the Mobile Learn App and download it on our Blackboard help site. Sign up to University text messages on SRSWeb.
- Campus Pack: This will provide you with your very own Personal Learning Environment (PLE). Within your PLE, you can create and share blogs, wikis, e-portfolios and documents. Visit our Blackboard help site for more details.
Staff and student domains for Google apps have been merged into one this year, making it much easier for students to share the content they create in Google with their tutors and vice versa.
