UPDATED DATES

The first events in this have just been announced. Long time friend of Westminster Law School Robert Allan, who has regularly given talks under this umbrella, has agreed to come back and give some more contract masterclasses. Robert has recently retired, and was most recently a partner in the Commercial Group at Simkins LLP.  Robert represented many household names over the years including America, Mike Oldfield, Dire Straits, Wham, The Average White Band and The Scorpions. More recently Robert’s clients included EMI, who he has represented on a number of transactions including the acquisition of Chrysalis Records, Filmtrax, Virgin Records and Virgin Music Publishing, amongst others. Daniel Geey, lawyer at Field Fisher Waterhouse and sports law expert will be giving a lecture on Contemporary Issues in Sports Law in November. Daniel is author of the excellent The Final Score on Football Law blog and appears regularly in various media such as Sky Sports News, the BBC and the Independent amongst others discussing various sports law matters. Tom Hingley, musician and author, was the ‘glory years’ singer with the band Inspiral Carpets, who had a number 2 album in 1990 entitled Life which spawned a number of hit singles including the seminal This is How it Feels.  His book Carpet Burns deals with his time in the Inspiral Carpets and beyond, including his ongoing successful solo career.
