We are delighted to offer you this unique joint University of Westminster and ITI London Regional Group event on Terminology Management.
Janine Roberts BA MCIL MITI will share her experience of managing terminology. Janine is a technical translator with a wealth of experience of terminology work and terminology validation. Janine’s talk will be relevant not only to technical translators but to translators working in all fields of specialisation and none, and will also be of interest to interpreters who need to keep a note of specialist terms.
The talk will draw on Janine’s own experience to show how the management of terminology has evolved and will discuss various approaches to terminology management. Illustrating this by explaining how terminology is managed by one specific automotive manufacturer and by various translation companies, Janine will also discuss the importance of terminology management for individual translators or interpreters wishing to specialise in a particular field.
The talk will last about one hour and there will be time for interaction and Q&A. There will also be time for networking, before and after the talk. Janine’s PowerPoint file will be shared with participants after the event.
Participants can also rendezvous at the nearby All-Bar-One after the event to continue discussion and socialising.
Cost: £5 (LRG members); £10 (non-members)
Please book with Lindsay Bywood if you are a University of Westmister student.
