Andrew Watts is an architect and facade specialist with 25 years' experience of working on major projects from the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Triangle des Gares at Euralille for Jean Nouvel, and Federation Square for LAB. Andrew has a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Design from Cambridge University, where he developed a keen interest in the interface of structural and environmental design and architectural expression. Alongside Yasmin Watts, Andrew leads Newtecnic, façade designers for innovative and technically complex projects around the world, collaborating with leading architecture firms including Zaha Hadid Architects, Aedas and Jean Nouvel.

Andrew is the author of Modern Construction Envelopes and the Modern Construction Handbook, published by Springer. He is a Visiting Technical Lecturer at the University of Westminster in London, where he was an undergraduate student. Prior to that role he taught for three years at the University of Bath as a studio leader in the postgraduate studios. He has been a guest speaker at Cambridge University, Nottingham University, Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienna, Technische Universiteit Delft and the Bauhaus University as well as delivering papers for facade-related conferences such as PLEA and The Future Envelope.

Andrew will be discussing current projects as well as his publications and research in innovative construction.
