The Arnica Drying Cooperative was AfH UK’s first international project, and was supported by the WWF and carried out in partnership with Oxford University Business School. The project was undertaken as both a business study and an architectural initiative, and was carried out in collaboration with a Romanian community farming cooperative. The business was set up as a hybrid NGO/for-profit company, with profits feeding back into the system as subsidies for local farmers to encourage sustainable growth practice.
