About the event

SANTI follows a young Colombian man who receives a voice message from home while grappling with cultural differences at a London dinner party with his new English girlfriend.

SANTI is Richards’ third short and a scene taken from his 90-minute feature film written around the same subject. SANTI was recently screened at the BFI Southbank as one of 50 films selected from over 1,000 submissions for the BFI Future Film Festival and has been described as “an insightful and observational glance at cultural differences, loneliness and the yearning to belong” by film industry magazine View of the Arts.

The event will include a 10-minute projection of the short film with a 40-minute Q&A in English afterwards with the director. It is free to attend and open to all students, staff and members of the public.
