Join us for the Modern Masculinities Conference, a one-day interdisciplinary event exploring the challenges, contradictions, and possibilities shaping men’s lives today.

Open to academics, practitioners, students, and members of the public, this event will explore pressing contemporary issues relating to masculinity, including men’s mental health, identity, relationships, and the impact of social and technological change.
Organised by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and funded by the Quintin Hogg Trust, the conference brings together diverse perspectives from across disciplines and professional contexts.
A central highlight of the programme is the keynote address by Professor Brendan Gough (Leeds Beckett University), a leading scholar in masculinities and critical health psychology: “Affective masculinities: How do men enact vulnerability amid competing gender norms?”
This is a free conference (includes lunch and refreshments).
