Dr Virander Paul joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1991. Prior to his assignment as Deputy High Commissioner of India in London, he was a Press Minister at the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C. Previously, he also held diplomatic assignments at Indian Missions in Almaty, Vladivostok, Rome, St. Petersburg and Moscow.
He has served in the Europe East and Americas divisions at the Ministry of External Affairs Headquarters, as well as being a Director in the Prime Minister’s Office during 2007-2010. He holds a medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
