The Case for Public Involvement in Research – Carenza Lewis, Professor for the Public Understanding of Research, University of Lincoln

The Graduate School is delighted to announce that this year's annual lecture will be given by Carenza Lewis, Professor for the Public Understanding of Research at the University of Lincoln and presenter on Channel 4’s Time Team.

Professor Lewis will talk about her innovative research into the Black Death (the 14th century plague epidemic in Europe), for which she mobilised thousands of members of the public. She will discuss how public involvement can directly benefit research and how, in turn, such engagement helps develop volunteers’ knowledge, skills and aspirations.

The lecture and questions & answers session will be followed by a drinks reception. Doctoral researchers, supervisors and the wider Graduate School community are all cordially invited to join us for this special occasion.
