In April 2011, the annual Deutsche Börse Photography Prize will be presented by The Photographer’s Gallery at the University of Westminster’s flagship exhibition space Ambika P3.
The Deutsche Börse Photography Prize rewards one living contemporary photographer, who has made the most significant contribution to the photographic medium in Europe over the previous year. To mark the occasion, The Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) of the University of Westminster will be convening Exhibiting Photography, a three-day event considering issues central to the display of photographic images.
Victor Burgin is an artist and writer whose work has been influential internationally since the 1960s.
Simon Baker is the Tate’s first Curator of Photography. Past show include ‘Undercover Surrealism’ (Hayward Gallery, 2006) and ‘Close-Up: Proximity and defamiliarisation in art, film and photography’ (Fruitmarket Gallery, 2008)
Jorge Ribalta is a writer, artist and international curator. Among his many shows is the ground-braking ‘Universal Archive’ (MACBA, Barcelona 2008). His latest project concerns the Worker’s Photography Movement.
John Stezaker is an artist. He has a large exhibition of his found image collages is currently on display at the Whitechapel Gallery London (29 January – 18 March 2011)
Hannah Collins is an artist, making photographs and films. An extensive show of herr recent work has been shown on Barcelona, Madrid and Bogota.
Marysia Lewandowska is an artist and a professor at Konstfack, Stockholm. In her work she has explored the public function of archives, collections and exhibitions in an age characterized by privatization.
Rut Blees Luxemburg is an artist. Her singular photographs of city spaces, often shot at night, have been exhibited internationally.

This conference will take place from Friday 8 April to Sunday 10 April 2011. The fee for registration will be:
- Full conference: Standard rate £200. One day rate £110
- Full conference: Members of The Photographers’ Gallery:
- Standard rate £160. One day rate £90.
- Full conference: Student rate £90. One day rate £65.
This covers all conference documentation, refreshments, meals, receptions and administration costs.
