Meryl Kenny, Lecturer in Government and Policy at the University of Lancaster, will present a paper on The State of Australian Democracy: Sex, Gender and the 2013 Federal Election.

Meryl’s research interests bridge the intersection of gender politics, party politics, territorial politics, and institutional approaches to the study of politics. She is especially interested in the role of political parties in enabling or inhibiting women’s access to political office, focusing in particular on the gendered and institutional dynamics of candidate selection and recruitment.

All welcome.
