Joshua Oppenheimer, director of Oscar-nominated, multi-award-winning films The Act of Killing (2012) and The Look of Silence (2014) will be in conversation with writer and broadcaster Francine Stock (The Film Programme, BBC Radio 4).
In this rare London masterclass, Oppenheimer will explore his filmmaking methods, including his use of intervention, performance and collaboration as ways of making visible the role of fiction in non-fiction, fantasy in reality, and the political fever dream. Oppenheimer will discuss the aesthetic and formal consequences of these methods, as well as the impact his two ground-breaking films.
