Fine Art, Photography and Illustration students from the University of Westminster were invited to take part in a Christmas art exhibition, showcasing their work at Andaz London Hotel, Liverpool Street, on 9–10 December 2022.

The exhibition, which was co-organised by family-run PR agency Posh Cockney, ran over two days and aimed to reflect the ethos of the hotel's #BeWhoYouAre campaign. The campaign was launched back in September and through it, the hotel encourages both its team members and guests to express their unique selves. At Andaz London, creativity and individuality are celebrated, and this aligns closely with the values at the University of Westminster.

By showcasing the art they had been working on in their university degrees, Westminster students were invited to mirror the sentiments of the campaign, expressing themselves through their paintings and photographs. On display were a variety of works, from abstract landscape paintings and portraits to illustrations for graphic novels and comics.

Visitors at the exhibition were able to enjoy refreshments while they perused and admired the works of Westminster students. They were also able to purchase any pieces that they were particularly fond of.

Mario Flanagan, the General Manager at Andaz London, said: “The exhibition was a great success, and it was a pleasure to host such talented students from the University of Westminster. The event stems from the #BeWhoYouAre campaign that we launched in September, which celebrates individuality and creativity. I think it's great that the exhibition allowed students to express themselves and their creativity, as this strongly fits our values. We look forward to seeing how we can collaborate with others to continue sharing this important message.”

Emma Dodson, Illustration & Visual Communication BA Honours Course Leader, said: “Thanks to Andaz London and Posh Cockney for providing a great opportunity for our students to showcase their work in a quirky, upmarket location, and to a very different audience.

“The event also provided an opportunity for students to network and discuss potential future projects and commissions, which is great.”
