The University will move all its online coursework submissions to Blackboard Assignment from semester 2 of the 2026/27 academic year.
From the start of semester 2 in February 2027, the University will stop using Turnitin for any assignment submissions. All assignments will be submitted through Blackboard Assignment instead. Blackboard Assignment is a coursework submission system built into your Blackboard module sites.
This does not markedly affect how you will submit assignments. When the change does come, the experience will feel very similar; you will still submit online, receive feedback through Blackboard, and have your work checked for originality.
One important note
Even though it will not be possible for submissions to be sent to Turnitin from February 2027, previous submissions made to Turnitin will be accessible to you until 31 July 2027. After that, you will no longer be able to log in to Turnitin via Blackboard to view past submissions.
