Westminster’s growing space group will be meeting on Wednesday 13 August from 12-1pm at Marylebone's growing space (located via Luxborough Street) for a summer gardening session.
The gardening group will be tidying the growing space and tending to the vegetables planted in the spring. This year, the group have been growing corn, artichokes and squash, as well as onions, garlic and potatoes planted in the colder months. Attendees of the session can take home any produce that is ready to harvest so please join if you are interested!
Urban gardening is a great way to get outdoors during a working day and is not only great for mental health but also helps encourage biodiversity in central London. Students and colleagues can use the growing space at any time, and we encourage anyone to water or tend to our plants if they have a free moment.
Our gardening sessions aim to promote biodiversity on campus and align with Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land.
