This workshop will introduce business structures, how to register a company and the legal responsibilities that come with starting and running a business. 

Participants will understand the importance of setting up a company in the right way from a legal perspective and also how to ensure that its ongoing operation complies with the law. All participants will come away with a much better understanding of company law and how to operate their company in a way which makes it legally compliant and also more attractive to investors and also people who want to do business with the company.

This is designed to be a highly interactive workshop with the use of case study exercises.

  • An understanding of what a company is from a legal point of view

  • An understanding of the pros and cons of adopting different company structures

  • An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of directors and shareholders

  • An understanding of why company law is important including in relation to attracting investors

  • Understanding which business structure is best for you and why

  • Learning about the typical mistakes that founders make when setting up their businesses and the losses that this can lead to

  • Understanding more about the strategies that you can put in place to avoid losses
