Spring gardening session at Marylebone

Date 20 May 2025
Time 12 - 1pm
Location Marylebone Campus
Cost Free

Enjoy the spring by joining our May gardening session at Marylebone’s growing space.

The gardening group will be repotting seedlings that were sown at the beginning of spring and transplanting them to larger planters. This year, the group are growing mixed squash, tomatoes, corn and artichoke. Winter vegetables such as onions, garlic and kale are also still growing in the space, so come along to harvest some produce.

Gardening is more than just planting – it’s a way of encouraging a pocket of biodiversity within an urban campus and a great way to connect with nature. Gardening is also a great way to learn about local food-growing, composting and soil health. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, our gardening sessions have a space for you. You can use the growing space at any time, and we encourage anyone to water or tend to our plants if they have a free moment.

Our gardening sessions aim to promote biodiversity on campus and align with Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land. To learn more about sustainability at Westminster, visit our Sustainable Development web page.
