Following on from the exhilarating success of last year’s event, we warmly invite you to the Diversity Fashion Show 2023!
About the event
Colonisation and chauvinism have left a wounding and enduring mark on many of us, taking away our confidence, our sense of wellbeing and our power. We look forward to redressing this, aligning with our University's passionate commitment to righting previous wrongs. Innovative new ideas emerging in academia set the stage for this year's Diversity Fashion Show.
Students from the School of Management and Marketing will showcase the way forward towards empowerment, peace, and a new way of being through clothing, artefacts and narrative.
Two main themes will be explored:
- Afro-Futurism: Exploring and imagining an alternative history of an Africa that was never colonised! We reimagine its future: What if……….???
- Feminine Leadership for All: The loss of feminine qualities and attributes in leadership has had an impact on everyone. It has led to the suppression of our full capabilities as men, women, and non-binary people. Impacts and possible solutions are explored by addressing the past and reimagining the future!
