Mechanic fixing a bike

This April, the Sustainability team are organising a Dr Bike event, run by experienced mechanics at Bikeworks. This free event will be ideal for students who cycle to campus and require minor bike repairs or advice on bicycle fixes.

About the free drop-in session

Bring your bike to the main entrance of the 115 New Cavendish campus to get it serviced by one of the experienced mechanics at Bikeworks. This should take roughly 30 minutes.

Operation of gears, brakes, tyre pressure, and more can be tested and rectified on the day if needed.

For repairs that need additional fixing, the mechanics can provide detailed advice on what exactly needs fixing and how much it should cost at the local bike shop. You can also ask the mechanics any questions you have about your bike.

Dr Bike sessions aim to promote the use of sustainable travel to and from the University. By encouraging the use of bicycles as a safe and effective mode of travel, we hope to reach our target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To achieve this, we need active engagement and unity between all students and staff to reach a common goal.

The on-site Dr Bike session is free of charge and is a drop-in event
