Join us for an artist's talk by Alfredo Jaar, followed by a discussion with artists Abbas Zahedi, Yarli Allison and curator Annie Jael Kwan.
An evening of discussion, reflection and renewal. The evening will start with an artist’s talk by Alfredo Jaar titled "Things Fall Apart". Following the talk, Jaar will be joined by artists Abbas Zahedi and Yarli Allison for a panel discussion titled "Curing the World? Art as Change and Healing", moderated by Annie Jael Kwan, curator of Brent Biennial 2025.
About the artists
Alfredo Jaar is an artist, architect, and filmmaker who lives and works in New York. His work has been shown extensively around the world. Working across installation, photography, and public interventions, his practice confronts indifference and insists on the ethical responsibilities of representation. His talk offers a profound insight into a lifetime of making art that challenges, unsettles, and demands empathy.
Abbas Zahedi is an artist whose practice blends sound, sculpture, performance, and social processes to explore memory, identity, and belonging. With a background in medicine and philosophy, his work explores how art can function as both a threshold and a salve. Yarli Allison works across sculpture, XR, film, tattooing and performance. Her speculative worlds examine queerness, biotech, migration and digital entanglement, weaving tenderness through precarity.
