If you're an international student, find out which WeNetwork activities you can join, visa restrictions to be aware of and where to access support.
What Student visa holders can access
If you hold a Student visa, you can join any WeNetwork activity that doesn’t involve registering or operating a business. This includes:
- Start-Up 101
- Freelance Essentials
- Big Idea Competition – excluding the Accelerate category
- WeNetwork appointments and events on CareerZone
Restrictions for Student visa holders
Under UK government regulations, Student visa holders can’t start a business or freelance while in the UK.
This means you'll be restricted from participating in some WeNetwork activities and opportunities.
However, you can still:
- develop a business plan without launching your business
- prepare for future opportunities once you're eligible
When you move to a different visa that allows business activity, you may be able to access additional WeNetwork support to help you launch and grow your venture.
You'll be informed of any specific restrictions when registering for a WeNetwork activity.
