What's involved?

A freelance career could give you the freedom to work on your own terms, turn your passion and creativity into income and focus on what matters most to you.

Through online and in-person sessions over several months, you’ll explore key areas such as:

  • earning income from your skills
  • building trust with clients
  • getting paid your true value
  • securing your first freelance jobs
  • building a brand
  • managing a freelance business

You’ll also take part in the Community Mixer – a supportive event where you can pitch your ideas for the Pioneer Bursary and network with the wider community.

What you'll gain

  • You’ll receive a certificate of completion when you finish the programme
  • Completing the programme puts you in a strong position to take your freelance business further by entering the Westminster Big Idea Competition

Who's eligible?

The programme is open to:

  • current students
  • recent graduates (from the last three years)

You don’t need experience to apply, you just need to:

  • be curious to learn – show genuine interest in self-employment and freelancing
  • demonstrate commitment – actively take part in workshops and networking events
  • embrace a positive attitude – be open to feedback and willing to grow
