An internship or work placement abroad can give you valuable experience and open doors to new career opportunities around the world.

When to take an internship or work placement

You may be able to complete an internship, traineeship or work placement abroad as part of a module or your wider programme of study, if your course allows, and earn academic credit.

You can also take one independently outside of teaching time.

Once you've secured an opportunity

If you're taking the internship or work placement as part of your course, contact your College Placement Officer for the next steps.

If you're taking it outside of your studies, get in touch with our Student Mobility Team via the Student Centre.

Funding for your experience

If you're a current student planning an internship, traineeship or work placement abroad, you may be eligible for funding via the Turing Scheme.
