Designed for final-year undergraduate South Asian women, this programme offers a space to share your experiences, gain new perspectives and build confidence for your future career.
About the programme
Research shows that South Asian women in the UK often face unequal career outcomes and systemic barriers to higher-level job opportunities – particularly those from working-class backgrounds, as identified by the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD).
Through honest conversations and inspiring workshops, this programme helps you reflect on these shared challenges with other South Asian women and explore strategies to overcome them.
Across a number of weeks, you’ll:
- participate in workshops and discussions led by accomplished professionals in fields like politics, journalism and entrepreneurship
- visit potential employers to see where your career could take you – past visits have included the Civil Service
- explore topics such as confidence building, personal branding and navigating workplace dynamics
Key benefits
- Receive £250 at the end of the programme to support your personal development, along with a certificate of completion
- Reflect on your experiences in a supportive environment with other South Asian women
- Work with fellow participants to develop practical strategies for overcoming workplace barriers
- Gain valuable insights and build the higher-level skills needed to succeed in your chosen career path
- Hear real stories from role models who can inspire and guide you
