Learn more about who we are, where we're headed, and the strategic objectives that underpin Zone29 and its game-changing activities.
Our goals
Our new home of careers and enterprise is a catalyst for new ideas, global connections and opportunities – for students, graduates, businesses, organisations and the community at large. We've got big ambitions – let's help you realise yours.

Our vision was to transform our disused nine-storey building into London’s most inclusive home of careers and enterprise. A key vehicle of our Being Westminster strategy, students will collaborate with alumni, businesses, organisations and the local community. Together, we will power careers, enterprises and opportunities – and a brighter future for all.
Founding principles
Zone29 illuminates talent and career paths through its three guiding lights.

Diversity that drives positive change
Inclusive by nature, our diverse talent brings a multitude of modern perspectives to current and future work challenges. Bring your whole self and feel you belong.

Social mobility and opportunities for all
It's not where you start – it's where you're headed. Through our skills development, funding, networks and initiatives, we unearth and nurture excellence from all corners of society.

Transforming lives and business
Inspiring change that creates a lasting impact, Zone29 is a bold, transformative space that grows skillsets and mindsets for progressive business outcomes and a better future for all.
Zone29 helps students and graduates to supercharge their career prospects, networks and enterprises, while businesses and community organisations can access our talent and support. We'll create valuable connections in a vibrant and inclusive new building in the heart of London.
Values that drive us
Zone29 is a significant enabler of the University’s strategic goals. Wellbeing, sustainability and inclusion are our non-negotiables – the foundation stones for Zone29 and our ambitions.
With one of the UK’s most diverse student and graduate pools, Zone29 levels up our purpose as a socially responsible opportunity maker.
By expanding our inclusive network, providing funding opportunities and collaborating with local community groups, Zone29 enables us to shine a light on even more enterprising talent.
We engage with our local community to address skills gaps, protect the environment and increase opportunities for marginalised groups.

Zone29 is the driving force behind Westminster's overarching employability goal – to ensure all students benefit from careers-led learning and purposeful engagement with employers, industry and communities.
While real-world experiences and career readiness are already embedded in our curriculum, Zone29 propels student prospects to new heights. It enables them to secure the skills, expertise and networks they need to enhance their job and business prospects.
We aspire for our graduates to be intelligent, socially responsible and industry ready. We develop global citizens equipped with the real-world career skills they need to power their local, national and international communities as innovators, creative thinkers and entrepreneurs.
Our students must be prepared for the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Zone29 is our front door for local and global organisations, which directly connects them to new talent in innovative and inspiring ways.
Our contemporary, purpose-designed physical spaces enable mutually beneficial connections between students, graduates, businesses and community organisations. Together, we'll create a vibrant, enterprising community that celebrates the power of the collective.
Building on our University's proud history of global engagement, international collaboration and educating international students, Zone29 will broaden the University's horizons even further.
As well as opening our doors to local and global organisations, it's also the new home of work and study abroad opportunities. This includes the popular Westminster Working Cultures programme, which enhances students’ connections with Westminster alumni and global employer partners in a worldwide workplace.
Next-level global engagements will also expand our research and knowledge exchange activities, and help keep the future of the University truly global.

We are inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDGs) – ‘to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages’ – which encapsulates the growing acceptance and importance of developing healthier societies.
Growing the employability skills and graduate prospects of our students feeds powerfully into the delivery of our commitment to equality, diversity and wellbeing, social inclusion and decent work for all.
The SDGs underpin our work in the local community, which is why our sustainability contributions are ranked among the top 13% of over 2,300 universities worldwide.
We have a huge role in helping to support our community’s health and wellbeing, research, knowledge exchange and digital and enterprise skill development.
The new destination has restored our existing building at 29 Marylebone Road, which was stripped and vacated in 2017.
We opted against a demolish and rebuild in order to reduce our carbon impact. This reflects the University’s strategic pledge to reuse, refurbish and modernise its existing sites and spaces through purpose-built, sustainable and mindful development.
Significant modifications were introduced to boost accessibility, which reinforces our strategic priorities of inclusion, sustainable development and wellbeing.
The building has been purposely-designed for work, creativity and collaboration. Discover more about our building and spaces.
At Westminster, our education is authentic, personalised and purposeful. A key differentiator for the University, Zone29 helps us to deliver on these commitments by growing our employer connections, providing dedicated spaces for collaboration and giving students real-world opportunities.
Ultimately, these efforts enable our students to graduate with the confidence and tools they need to thrive in their careers and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Our mission is to help students and colleagues from different backgrounds fulfil their potential and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable and healthy society.
